Thank you for stopping by. I’m Heidi De La Teja, full time professional photographer and co- owner of De La Teja Studio in beautiful Appleton Wi. My photography journey began over two decades ago and I’ve loved every moment of this extraordinary calling!
I have dedicated my life to portrait and wedding photography. As a classically trained photographer I was taught the art of photography on a medium format camera. I graciously interned with master photographers for 10 years before opening Heidi Lee Photography.
My professional photography training in San Francisco with Playboy reflects in my unique style today... Romantic, Poetic and Emotionally Charged.
Photography is my passion! As an Inspirer and spirited extrovert I pride myself on having optimal people skills. My international experience behind the camera has sculpted me into a creative, resourceful quick thinking artist in any situation. I'm discerning, disarming and I will happily learn everyone’s names along the way.

Hello, I'm Gerry De La Teja, full time professional cinematographer/ photographer and co-owner of De La Teja Studio. My passion for film making goes back to my childhood. I attended UW Oshkosh and hold a Bachelor Degree in RTF - Radio, Television, Film. I enjoy applying what I've learned to our fine art wedding photography and cinematic wedding films. I describe my style of storytelling as...modern, emotional and detailed.
Cinematography & photography are part of my everyday life, I need them to breathe. As an artist I'm happiest when painting, drawing and creating a masterpiece through the eyes of my camera lens. My approach to wedding photography is editorial. I simply document the day as it unfolds, offering guidance when needed.
I make that essential connection so people can relax and reveal their true personalities. By drawing from people’s energy I'm able to create spectacular images full of real emotion & expression! - Cheers

Appleton Wedding Photographer - I was taught the art of photography on a medium format film camera and I still shot film today.
One of my first jobs was at a local photo lab developing film, burning and dodging prints in the dark room before Photoshop existed. The owner "Ozzy" & LIFE Magazine photographer taught me about composition, lighting, and f- stops because there was no such thing as a digital back to preview images like these days.
Over the past two decades I have pushed the envelope practicing my craft which has made me into the photographer I am today!
There’s simply no substitute for experience and true talent when it comes to exceptional fine art wedding photography. I graciously take on the signifiant responsibility of documenting each and every wedding with the utmost gratitude, love and respect!

My photography, painting & film making drive me. It’s the art of creating something new that gets me up in the morning. I draw inspiration from my travels, art museums, classic films and quality time at the gym & practicing yoga!

I had vacationed in Mexico over the years and fell in love with the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, fabulous food, hypnotic salsa music and gracious people. I decided to utilize my time by setting up shop in Cancun, Tulum, Isla Mujeres & Playa del Carmen throughout the winter, returning to Wisconsin to photograph summer weddings.
While living in Mexico in 1997, I met the “love of my life” and fellow artist Gerry De La Teja. We hit it off and decided to tied the knot in 2005, blending both businesses into the dream team of “De La Teja Studio”. ❤️
Aside from work we consider ourselves adventurous souls. We crave white water rafting in Montana & skiing in Vancouver to scuba diving off the Great Barrier Reef & zipline in Costa Rica.
We enjoy helping nonprofits such as: The Boy & Girls club & New Pawsasbility animal shelter.
We believe in being the voice for children and animals that cannot speak for themselves.
