Meet the Artists

Ger De La Teja

Hi, I'm Ger De La Teja ~ Growing up in Mexico City, I was exposed to several cultures that influenced my life and ideology, especially American movies and Japanese cartoons. This created in me a love for film and photography, and a weakness for literature and fine art.

I began my career in 1996 as a freelance commercial photographer in my native city, where I worked for advertising and modeling agencies. Two years later my career took me to Cancun Mexico where soon after I met fellow professional photographer, Heidi Lee, the woman who would become my wife and business partner.

in 2005, I loved to the US and joined my beloved bride in our pursuit of excellence in international wedding photography. My fascination of fine art and films intrigued me to expand my horizons. In 2008 I enrolled in UW Oshkosh where I achieved my degree in RTF - radio, tv, films.

Since then I have written and directed several short films and have drawn many portraits, life stills and abstract compositions. In 2019 I studied acrylic painting and soon after body painting as my oeuvre grows. I live in Appleton Wi with my lovely wife Heidi and our two cats Chewy and Raffa.

Heidi De La Teja

Qué onda - I’m Heidi, a full time professional photographer and co- owner of De La Teja Studio in Appleton Wi. My photography journey began over two decades ago and I’ve loved every moment of this extraordinary calling! I’ve dedicated my life to portrait photography. As a classically trained photographer, I was taught the art of photography on a medium format Mamiya 645 film camera.

Words that best describe me - Loyal, dedicated & diligent

My first job was working at a photo lab developing film before Photoshop existed. The owner taught me composition, lighting, and f- stops since there was no such thing as a digital back to preview.

I interned with several maser photographers for 10 years before opening my own business. My internship in San Francisco with Playboy reflects my unique style today ~ romantic, poetic, emotionally charged.

My fave things besides photography include - world travel, culinary arts, vinyasa, advocating for animals & horseback riding.

All of my training over the past two decades has pushed me to become a better artist. There’s simply no substitute for experience and true talent when it comes to exceptional fine art photography. I graciously take on the responsibility of documenting each and every client with the utmost gratitude, love and respect! Photography is more than a job, it’s my passion!
