Door County is so diverse that I rarely ever hit the same spot twice! That’s why I suggested the beautiful Door Peninsula to Madi for her senior pictures. Madi and I had an instant connection and got to know each other on our relaxing ride to Door County (plenty of girl time to get caught up on our fav movies and foods-LOL) . We stopped at a few of my secret places along the way throughout Jacksonport & Carlsville. Although I’m a Door County aficionado I’m still amazed by the new things I come across just by exploring and having a willing participant… like Madi. Her daring personality came in handy when we scaled into hidden caves along Lake Michigan. I swear we didn’t stop laughing all day ~ my face actually hurt from smiling! One great shot led us to another and it was like following a treasure map in the movies! After trekking around Door County all afternoon we completed this spirited photo session at sunset as Madi’s chilled out in a chic adirondak chair. Thank you for choosing us Madi and for being so willing to live on the edge – your bubbly personality glows in your photographs. Best wishes and congratulations!
We took our chances with Wisconsin weather in May and road tripped to Door County for this memorable modern teen shoot. Maggie was amazing to work with and mentioned she was” ready for an adventure”, and that what we created together! This magical photo experience started in Sturgeon Bay and continued though Baileys Harbor. We stopped at many of my hidden locations along the way. I feel lucky to live so close to the Door Peninsula and since my parents have had a cottage here for 30+ years I know the area like the back of my hand. I enjoy scouting unique locations each season to ensure my photo sessions are as different as the individual I’m photographing! Maggie had a great smile but I provoked a few other playful looks from her dazzling personality. We stopped for a fun and relaxed lunch at the Fish Market (splurged on cherry cobbler – LOL) and shot until sunset. What a day! The final results are breathtaking thanks to Maggie’s willingness to climb cliffs, run barefoot thought the sand and traverse Lake Michigan where the sand bar ended (sorry about the wet feet). Thanks for being such a great sport and congrats! Maggie, you are beautiful… remember those amazing moments!

We appreciate our clients because they enable us to do what we love! Below is a collage of our fav past modern teens!
Jennah and her family have been coming to us for their family pictures for over 10 years. It was a honor when Jennah called us and asked if we would photograph her Senior Portraits. Jennah has always been into fashion and selected a beautiful turquoise formal gown to be included in her session. We decided to shoot out of town for a unique look rather than the usual places people go. We found a vintage farm house and stone barn as our backdrop to this amazing photo session. Congratulations Jennah – Its been exciting to watch you grow up, we know you are ready to take on the world!
Stacy & Derick reside in Colorado but decided to tie the knot in Magnificent Mexico. Stacy is originally from Wisconsin and came across De La Teja Studio many years ago…and we were honored they remembered us after all these years. Stacy looked striking in her designer beach gown complete with pink gold jewelry to match the sunsets of the Mayan Riviera. Many of our destination weddings consist of just the bride & groom since most couples are not into the show of a full traditional wedding. This couple were very much in love and wanted to keep things private and simple. Stacy said her favorite part was wandering the desolate beach at sunset while we watched a thunder storm roll by ~ she felt like a movie star! Derick was the perfect groom and answered to Stacy’s every wish! After the extraordinary beach photo session we wandered into town to capture the soft glow of candles and street lights that make Playa Del Carmen so special! Stacy & Derick were blown away with these spectacular images both on and off the beach. We wrapped up the evening with the newlyweds to a famous seafood restaurant on the ocean complete with mango margaritas and a few tequilas! The next day we road tripped down the Yucatan Peninsula to a nearby cenote/quarry. The picturesque caverns were calling their names after a hot day of walking thru the jungle, they couldn’t wait to dive in the turquoise mayan pools! Great job and kudos to you both for your willingness to venture off the resort for these breathtaking and once in a lifetime images! Salud to Stacy & Derick!
