Its true, anyone can pick up a camera these days and call themselves a “photographer”. Let it be know there is a very big difference between a profession full time artist and a freelance photographer! Even part timers can catch “luck shots” but its an expert that thrives on knowing their camera settings and subject matters perfectly! Would you hire a dentist without training to clean your teeth? Or how about asking your makeup consultant from Clinique to give you an oil change? Why hire a non-professional to do a professionals job? As professional wedding photographers we don’t practice on our brides and hope we get a lucky shot. We “know our stuff” inside and out guaranteeing our clients excellence in wedding portraiture. There are 1000’s of nuances that happen at each wedding and its our job to seek them out. My personal favorites include the hugs, kisses and tears and we capture these moments when guests don’t realize were taking pictures. (We are 90% unobtrusive!) After working in the business for over 17 years we have our tricks of the trade to capturing pure emotion on camera! It’s one thing to ask a friend who is dabbling in photography to snap a few pics at your child’s Birthday day party and it’s another to “entrust” a non-professional with the intense responsibility to document an entire wedding in which you cannot re-stage!
